Rihanna and Nicki Minaj are among the nominees for this year's Billboard Music Awards, which will air live from Las Vegas on ABC May 19.  They're both competing for Top Female Artist, a category that also includes pop stars Adele, Taylor Swift and Carly Rae Jepsen.

Rihanna, who's nominated for 10 different awards this year, is also up for Top R&B Artist.  The other nominees in that category are Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Alicia Keys and Usher.  As for Top Rap Artist, Nicki and her YMCMB label mate Drake are nominees in that category this year.

Miguel is among the first artists booked to perform at the Billboard Music Awards, which will be hosted by Tracy Morgan.  Prince will be given the Billboard Icon Award at the event.
