It’s Finally Mardi Gras Season & Here’s your Schedule to All The Fun!

Shreveport-Bossier is home to some of Louisiana’s largest parading Mardi Gras organizations, known locally as “krewes.” These krewes produce a busy calendar of parties, parades and other events each Carnival season. Here are some of the highlights of the 2020 Carnival season in Shreveport-Bossier:

The fun begins in Shreveport-Bossier on Saturday, Jan. 18 with the Krewe of Sobek Parade – the earliest parade on Shreveport-Bossier’s Carnival calendar! Parade season keeps rolling with the Krewe of Harambee Martin Luther King Jr. Day Mardi Gras Parade on Monday, Jan. 20. On Sunday, Feb. 9, the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Pet Parade will be held at 2000 Reeves Marine Drive in Bossier City.

One of the largest parade weekends in Louisiana begins on Friday, Feb. 14, with the Krewe of Centaur Float-Loading Party. On Saturday, Feb. 15, the fun continues with the Krewe of Centaur Parade. During the Krewe of Centaur Parade, the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau produces a huge party for visiting groups of 10 or more who are seeking a fun, easy parade day experience. The second major parade weekend in Shreveport-Bossier concludes on Sunday, Feb. 23, with the Krewe of Highland Parade, a funky and unpredictable neighborhood parade that winds its way through the Highland neighborhood of Shreveport.
